DataMerge enriches company and contact data to improve lead generation and customer relationship management. The service provides extensive data enhancement capabilities for sales teams and marketers looking to build better prospect databases.

Core Capabilities

Company Enrichment: Enrich company profiles by domain name, either individually or in batches. All enrichment operations are asynchronous - submit a job and poll for completion status to retrieve enriched records.

Contact Discovery & Enrichment: Search for contacts at specific companies or enrich existing contact data using LinkedIn URLs or name+domain combinations. Contact operations also follow the async job pattern.

Lookalike Analysis: Find companies similar to your seed set by providing domains of target companies. Useful for expanding total addressable market.

Hierarchy Mapping: Retrieve complete corporate hierarchies showing parent-subsidiary relationships and global ultimate ownership structures.

List Management: Create and manage curated lists of companies or contacts for ongoing campaigns and tracking.

Domain Model

The service operates on two primary objects: companies (identified by domain or datamerge_id) and contacts (identified by record_id UUID). All enrichment jobs return job_ids that must be polled until completion. Successfully completed jobs provide record_ids for retrieving the enriched data.

Key Patterns

Most data operations are asynchronous - you initiate a job, receive a job_id, then poll the status endpoint until completion. The service includes credit tracking and prompt templates for common workflows. API key configuration may be required before first use if not set in environment variables.
