Official UK government Linked Data API for property price paid data and house price indices. No authentication required.

Data Model

Price Paid Data (PPI)

• Transaction — Individual property sale with price, date, address, property type, estate type, and transaction category.
• Property Types — detached, semi-detached, terraced, flat-maisonette, other.
• Estate Types — freehold, leasehold.
• Transaction Categories — standardPricePaidTransaction, additionalPricePaidTransaction.

UK House Price Index (UKHPI)

• Monthly Indices — Monthly house price index data by region, including average prices, annual/monthly percentage changes, and sales volumes.
• Regions — England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, individual local authorities, counties.
• Breakdowns — Data available for all property types, plus separate indices for detached, semi-detached, terraced, flats, new builds, and existing properties.

Gotchas

• The service rate-limits open traffic—space out heavy loops.
• Price Paid Data goes back to 1995.
• UKHPI data keys regions with opaque linked-data identifiers—reuse the ids returned from region discovery tools instead of inventing new ones.
• Page sizes default to 10, max recommended is 200 for performance.
• Dates in PPI are formatted as human-readable strings (e.g. "Fri, 17 May 1996"), not ISO 8601.
• Use min-pricePaid / max-pricePaid for price range filtering in PPI queries.
